Fine Artist and Graphic Designer.

Rediscovered Joy: En Plein Air Painting.
Influences: Impressionism, Surrealism, the Abstract.
As an artist who loves painting as much as designing, I frequently bounce between the two. I find the same principles of graphic design apply to art. For me, the two work in tandem. In the studio I work mostly from my photographs as reference. I often use software programs to manipulate images creating the framework for paintings or digital artwork.
I’ve learned to balance my left brain/right brain with technology and paint. Designing a logo, business card, or book cover with stunning typography and color is just like putting a puzzle together. When completed, it becomes a thing of beauty.
Of painting, what can I say? My first love. Color… Prussian Blue… Magenta. Light and shadow. The smell of oil paint and linseed. The buttery smoothness of their brushstrokes.
Throughout the years I have been privileged to paint with some wonderfully, gifted and acclaimed artists including: Richard Martin, Ken Tedford, Nanci Katchmer, Michael Molnar, and Alice Laputka. Their mentoring is woven into my art. And I am ever grateful for that.
My latest studio work is a series of acrylic collages. Seasons paralleling life’s élan vital. They have challenged me and I’ve struggled to bring them to completion. The paintings transformed daily throughout the process. Each scrap of paper being torn and collaged mirrored tears of my own inner turmoil. It has been extremely cathartic to bring these works to completion. I share them with you in hope that you might see your own journey– the paths fallen upon that have lead you to the treasured person you are this day. Be blessed.
